the H.E.Bates short story competition for 2019.

First prize   Michael Stewart     'When A Woman Says No'

Second prize   Hilary Spiers     'Last Train'

Third prize   Judy Drazin      'The Blue Bead'

Prize for the best Northamptonshire Writer   Steven Holding                                                            'Route Thirty-Three'

We are planning to produce an anthology of 30 or 40 prize-winning stories from 2005 (when the H E Bates Competition was re-launched after several years absence) to 2019. If any winners have any objection to their story being included in the book, we would be grateful if they could let us know.
